MISSION
To create, study, advise, promote, and coordinate initiatives toward supporting, rescuing, preserving, researching, valuing, and disseminating information about the cultural heritage of the Aysén region, so as to ultimately safeguard its regional identity.
VISION
To become an institutional referent with a solid trajectory as well as management experience nationwide, with regards to the diagnosis, elaboration, and implementation of projects aimed at rescuing, valuing, researching, preserving, and sharing the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Aysén region.
María Dolores Altamirano Fernández (Barcelona 1977)
Maria Dolores is an architect from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, who after several years of working in architecture and construction in Spain, founded the Corporación Memoria Austral, based in the region of Aysén, Chilean Patagonia, with the aim of ensuring the rescue and preservation of memory, from all areas of heritage, to safeguard the regional identity. Her current work within the Corporation focuses on cultural management and the generation of a joint work between public and private actors, joining forces in the preservation of memory, the socialization of knowledge and improving the quality of life of communities in a sustainable manner in the territories. She currently works as a researcher for Corporación Memoria Austral from Coyhaique, Aysén region, Chile.
Constanza Pérez Lira (Santiago, 1984).
Constanza is an architect from the Universidad Católica de Chile and candidate for a Master’s degree in Art History from the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. After living in the Aysén region for 5 years, she founded the Corporación Cultural Memoria Austral, from where she dedicates his research to the reflection and rescue of the cultural heritage of this region. Among his most outstanding projects are the creation of the photographic archive of the Aysén Regional Museum, the rescue of the Campamento Puerto Cristal Mining Monument, and the research workshop on the region’s heritage architecture, Aysén Vernacular. She is currently working as a researcher for the Corporación Memoria Austral from Santiago, Chile.
Irene Ruiz Pareras (Barcelona, 1986)
Irene is a sociocultural anthropologist, who studied at the University of Barcelona and graduated from the National University of Distance Education in Spain. From the Aysén region, it works to give visibility to the cultural heritage inserted in the communities with which it works, transmitting value and meaning in the various projects that seek to ensure the rescue and enhancement of the tangible and intangible heritage of this area of Chile. She currently works as a researcher for the Corporación Memoria Austral, from Villa Cerro Castillo, Aysén region, Chile.
Carlos Castillo Levicoy (Coyhaique, 1977)
Carlos is an artisan shingle maker from the Aysén region, with a degree in Forestry Engineering at the Universidad Austral de Chile. He also holds a Master’s degree in Botany from Universidad de Concepción. In recent years, his work has focused on enhancing the value of traditional woodworking trades and studying the region’s vernacular architecture through the Aysén Vernacular research workshop, which has allowed him to publish, together with other professionals, reflections that are included in a series of books and papers. He currently works as a researcher for Corporación Memoria Austral from Coyhaique, Aysén region, Chile.

Fichero Austral nace a partir de la asociación de un equipo multidisciplinario de profesionales vinculados a Aysén, que busca generar proyectos con contenidos de calidad y visualmente atractivos para la puesta en valor del patrimonio Cultural y Natural de la región.
Nos interesa rescatar y difundir todos aquellos elementos que están contenidos en el imaginario del territorio, desde sus orígenes hasta el devenir contemporáneo, todo aquello que es necesario rescatar para revalorizar y conservar en la memoria, para futuras generaciones.
